We all strive, through the hustle and bustle of the world, to lead a good and happy life. We all tend to chase comfort, success and fame. But there’s something more valuable – something everyone wants, but very few actively seek – peace.
Without peace, there’s no lasting meaning to comfort or success or popularity.
There’s a saying that goes; “Peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.”
Where do you attain real peace? If a get-away to a serene place could give peace, why can’t we outrun our thoughts even while we are there? meditation could bring peace, are we troubled when we get back to our daily chores? The weekend may feel like a temporary escape, but as they say, “Monday always comes.”
Jesus, in the Bible, says, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” He promised to give true peace, a permanent one, the one that lets you stay calm when life seems like a roller-coaster ride. Jesus is the source of this real peace, which He bestows freely to anyone who comes into a relationship with Him.
